The WilberGraves Workshop
A Two-Day Programme run In-House within Organisations.
The ancient Chinese would curse their enemies thus: "May you live in interesting times".
These are certainly interesting times; interesting times for individuals and teams, for organisations and companies, for the business world and the world at large. More than ever before in our history we need to understand how all of these systems are in constant interaction with one another. Only when we understand these systems can we develop the successful strategies we need to respond to the ever-changing environment.
This two-day programme brings together two of the most powerful diagnostic models developed so far – Ken Wilber’s All-Quadrants, All-Levels Model and Clare Graves’ Values Model (sometimes known as Spiral Dynamics).
When integrated, these models provide us with the most comprehensive map that we have to charter the turbulent waters of today’s business environment.
Since 1996, excellenceforall has successfully applied these models in the UK and Europe. As such, we have a uniquely European perspective on their use.
Clare Graves’ Values Model
Clare Graves was a contemporary and colleague of Maslow. He researched people’s concepts of “psychological health” until his death in the 1980s. He discovered that eight distinct world value systems that had developed on the planet up to that point.
These values systems are still represented in individuals, in organisations, and in society, today. Graves’ model is developmental and shows how individuals and organisations move through the eight stages. By recognising which system is prevalent in any situation, we can adapt and change our communication style in that situation to pace the values system and achieve our desired outcome.

Ken Wilber’s All-Quadrants, All-Levels Model
For over twenty-five years, Ken Wilber has been working at integrating the thinking and philosophies of the world’s leading wisdom traditions. With his Four Quadrants Model he has found a way to recognise and respect all theories. This is because every way of looking at the world, every worldview, is true but partial.
At one level, it is a very simple model that honours the interior and exterior individual, and the interior and exterior collective, but when applied to business and organisations, the model has helped some major organisations (see Testimonials for some of the companies excellenceforall has worked with) to diagnose problems and issues and start placing energy and resources where they are needed.
The Wilber / Graves’ Model or Organisational Dynamics Modelling
In 1996 Peter McNab first put these two models together and excellenceforall has been teaching this material on the INLPTA Master Practitioner programmes, the ten-day Integral Leadership programme, and also within organisations.
The two-day programme is a combination of input and exercises. The course is thought provoking, challenging, practical, immediately applicable and fun. Participants are strongly encouraged to apply the models to current work situations during the practical exercises.
