Outcomes

Outcomes - P.O.S.E.E.

Developing a well-formed outcome (see The Four Legs Of NLP and The Target Model) is a crucial element in any NLP intervention.

Positive – Make sure your outcome is what you want and doesn’t contain any elements of what you don’t want, if it does, ask yourself what you would rather have.

Own Part – Make sure you are completely in control of your outcome letting go of any element that you cannot control. Then check that you are willing and able to make it happen.

Specific - Ask yourself where, when, and with whom you want this outcome. You may find that there are some contexts where you wouldn’t want it; alternatively, it may be that there are other situations where it would be useful.

Evidence – Check out what you will see, hear, feel, taste and smell that will let you know that you have been successful. It is amazing how the world appears to change when you become more focussed.

Ecology – Finally, check that you have really considered the consequences for yourself and for others, and that all parts of you really want it.
